Crescent university honours late oba olufemi ogunleye, two others

The Crescent University Abeokuta on Saturday honoured the late traditional ruler of Akinale in Owu Kingdom of Egbaland, Oba Olufemi Ogunleye alongside two others for their selfless service to their community.

Penpushing reports that the deceased monarch, a renowned journalist was bestowed with posthumous award of promoting traditional heritage and professional excellence while Chief Kolawole Akintoye the Odofin of Egbaland bagged award in Promoting Charity and Humanitarian Services, and Mr. Adesegun Adesina received award for promoting culture and humanitarian services.

The ceremony was parts of activities marking 19th Founder’s Day of the institution held at the University Campus located along Ayetoro-Abeokuta road in Abeokuta North local government area of Ogun State

Penpushing further reports that the son of the late royal father Prince Olumide Ogunleye along with the wife of the deceased, Olori Olanike Ogunleye received the award posthumously on behalf of the late monarch.

The occasion featured a lecture titled,’ Deconstructing the Challenges of Nigeria’s Economic Reforms: Options and Opportunities’, which was delivered by Prof. Mahfouz Adedimeji, Vice-Chancellor, African School of Economics of (The Pan-African University of Excellence).
