Creditor ties debtor to stake over N4.6million

A creditor has tied his debtor to a stick with ropes at, Ebute Metta area of Lagos State over an unpaid debt of N4.6 million, a measure he allegedly took when all efforts proved abortive to recoup his money.

Penpushing reports that, following the ugly development, the victim’s wife, Angela Reuben, reported at the police station that the creditor deprived her husband  of his liberty  holding him hostage, hence, the police effected arrest of the debtor.

The Lagos State Police Command Public Relations Officer, Adekunle Ajisebutu who confirmed the incident said the victim was thereafter rescued after being tied for 24 hours, adding that the creditor claimed that he resorted to self-help after several efforts to recover his money from the victim failed

“The suspect tied the victim to a stick with ropes at No. 29, Abeokuta Street, Ebute Metta, Lagos from 22nd September to 23rd September when he was eventually rescued by the police. According to the suspect, he resorted to self help after several efforts to recover his money from the victim failed”,Ajisebutu said.

Penpushing reports that, following the incident, the Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, has directed that the suspect be transferred to the Command’s Tactical team for diligent investigation and prosecution and warned residents against taking the law into their own hands instead of taking legal actions to seek justice.
