Odukpani community to benefit from oil gas industrial park in cross rivers state

The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) has assured residents of Odukpani communities in Cross River where the industrial park of the Oil and Gas Park Scheme (NOGAPS) is sited of immense benefits in line with the Community Guideline Content developed by the agency

Penpushing reports that General Manager of Corporate Communications of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), Ginah  Ginah gave the assurance to the host community during a media tour by the Guild of Corporate Online Publishers(GOCOP)

The General Manager of Corporate Communications disclosed that the agency is already supplying the host community with clean water, adding that other benefits due to the host community include: employment opportunities, training for unskilled and semi-skilled indigenes, capacity building as well as scholarship programs.

Penpushing further reports that he explained that Odukpani Park and the one in Bayelsa are being developed in conjunction with key International Oil Companies (IOC) and geared towards achieving full industrialisation. .

The General Manager said arrangements have been made to ensure seamless operations by providing adequate security made up of combined team of mobile policemen and local security men, adding that the parks would incubate the manufacturing of equipment components utilized in the oil and gas industry

Penpushing also reports that the Site Engineer, speaking on the facilities at the park said the administrative block which houses a banking hall, restaurant and sick bay is completed, adding that the capacity building block is also fully ready.

The Engineer said it has an auditorium that sits 200 people with 6 classrooms for training purposes, while other facilities include state-of-the-art Information Technology Centre (ICT), hostels, water treatment building, recreation area, Helipad, maintenance building, fire service, security gate house and Mini Parks.

Penpushing further reports that he said the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), is also working to develop oil and gas parks at Oguta in Imo, Onne in Akwa Ibom, Ilaje in Ondo State and in Delta.
