COURT RE -ORDERS REMAND OF SUSPECTED LANDGRABBER

Penpushing further reports that, when the accused was brought to court  for the trial , the Prosecuting Counsel, who is also the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP), E.A. Adewole told the court that he(Lamina) violated his(Judge) order earlier given on Wednesday October 23, 2019.

The Director of Public Prosecution told the court that Lamina had been moving freely around the town and further causing commotion and harassments on innocent citizens, and thereby prayed the court to remand him at the Correctional Center in Sagamu.

Penpushing also reports that, the accused Counsel, Adebowale Odugbuwa, prayed the court to be lenient with his client explaining that the accused was only enjoying the bail earlier granted by High Court 1 before his re-arraignment at the Court IV.

The Director of Public Prosecution (DPP), however, strongly disagreed with Odugbuwa as he insisted that Lamina’s violation of the court’s order was a deliberate one and targeted at putting the judge’s patience to test.

The judge, Justice Olajimi, in his ruling frowned at the accused and expressed disappointment that the counsel could encourage his client to test his patience. and thereafter, ruled that the accused be remanded at the Correctional Center in Sagamu till 3rd December, 2019 for the continuation of the trial.
