Coronavirus palliative measures: Jigawa State Governor monitors distribution of cash to residents

The Jigawa State Governor, Muhammadu Badaru in continuation of the distribution of N20, 000 to poor and vulnerable persons by the federal Government under the conditional cash transfer programme, has inspected the programme to ensure transparency and equality.

Penpushing reports that, the inspection was carried out on Thursday when he visited Aljara town of Jahun Local government,  where the distribution of the fund was been carried out, and commended  President Muhammadu Buhari over the payment, saying that  it will serve as palliative for the poor and less privilege individual in the society..

“I appreciate our President, Muhammadu Buhari for the fund, for it has gone a long way in helping and sustaining our people during this period of stay at home cashed by the covid 19 pandemic. We will further extend the fund to other local government in the state so as to help them sustain in the hard time”. ”

Penpushing further reports that, while urging the beneficiaries to made good use of the assistance,  the governor said government is working hard to see how to extend the gestures to other local government of the state.

The Jigawa State Vocal person of Social Investment Programme,  Mallam Balla Usman Chamo, while commenting on the payment exercise said over N92,000,000 were  distributed to 4,616 beneficiaries in Aujara town.

‘So far as of today, N92,000,000 have been distributed to  over 4, 616 persons in the town as extension are going to  be made to other local government in the state’, he said, adding that the programme is targeting the care giver in the society.

Penpushing also reports that some of the beneficiaries who applauded the effort of the government pledged to make judicious use of the assistance.
