Iyalode: Nigerian female entrepreneurs visit family, pledges active participation at burial

The members of the Federation of Business Women Entrepreneurs (FEBWE), Nigeria on Sunday visited the family of late Iyalode of Yorubaland and the President of the body of female entrepreneurs Iyalode Alaba Lawson to commiserate with the family, and declared resolve to participate actively in the burial.

Penpushing reports that the National Coordinator of the group Omotola Omole led other members which cut across the country to the private residence of the deceased located at Quarry Road in Abeokuta, Ogun State Capital.

The members who arrived in numbers at about 12.30pm were received by children of the late business mogul and educationist, which include Akinola, Babalola and Oreoluwa, and other members of the family on ground

Penpushing further reports that the federation ECOWAS Commission said the death of Lawson who was a founding mother of the body in Nigeria came as a shock to all members, adding that the deceased taught them to be transparent in whatever they are doing.

The National Coordinator who spoke on behalf of the federation pointed out that the late Iyalode imparted humility and dedication on them, adding that she was accessible to both the poor and the rich during her lifetime.

‘She imparted in us to be straighfoward in everything we are doing. The death was a shock to us. She had time to round up. She taught us to be transparent. Iyalode was accessible to poor and the rich’, Omole stated

Penpushing also reports that Federation of Business Women Entrepreneurs (FEBWE) at a sideline meeting expressed desire and plans to participate actively and fully at the burial, assuring that they would stand out at the burial

The National Coordinator assured that Federation of Business Women Entrepreneurs (FEBWE), a legacy left behind by the deceased would not be left to fold up, rather members would strive hard to ensure its growth for Iyalode to remain happy in her grave

‘As far as am concerned this association is not going to die. She started Federation of Business Women Entrepreneurs (FEBWE), Nigeria. She taught us to be transparent, We are going to participate at the burial and we should stand out at the burial’, she added

Penpushing reports that Media Adviser of the late notable female Nigerian entrepreneur, and educationist Prince Dimeji Kayode-Adedeji had earlier in a statement on behalf of the family announced the death

The statement explained that Lawson passed on peacefully in her bedroom as about 5.47am at her private residence on Saturday, October 28, 2023 at age 72 in her private residence located in Quarry Road area of Abeokuta, Ogun State Capital

‘This is to announce the transition of a notable female Nigerian entrepreneur, an educationist the Iyalode of Egbaland and Iyalode of Yoruband, Iyalode Alaba Oluwaseun Lawson who passed on peacefully today Saturday the 28th of October 2023 at 72’, the statement reads

The statement added that her corpse has been deposited at a private mortuary, and that the family will later announce burial arrangements, while a condolence register has been opened at the deceased home and at her private established schools located at Oke-Ilewo and Kuto area of Abeokuta respectively

‘We lost our mother, benefactor to the cold hands of death this morning at her private residence in Abeokuta. It was a sad Saturday morning, but we cannot question God who knows the best. We thank God for her life. She lived a fulfilled life. Iyalode came, saw and conquered and she will forever continue to rest in perfect peace’, the statement added
