Coronavirus: Ogun Churches comply with maximum of 50 worshippers
Churches in Ogun State on Sunday complied with Government directive of maximum of 50 worshippers to be in attendance in view of coronavirus endemic, while some of the churches were also under lock and key.
Penpushing reports that, some of these churches,however, reduced number of hours of their services to one hour as against the known two hours, to accommodate two services, with each of the service accommodating 50 members, while provision for sanitizers and handwashing bowl with water provided
The church authorities were also seen screening members, in ensuring that those to be accommodated for the service did not exceed the 50 approved numbers, while in the same vein, the sitting arrangements showed the approved feet distance from each member
The Victory Life Bible Church (VLBC) located along Abeokuta-OGTV –Ajebo road fully complied with the directive, as findings showed that, members in attendance did not exceed the 50 approved number, and also provided sanitizers applied on each entrant.
Similarly at Celestial Church Ibara, Abeokuta, a notice board was place at the church gate informing members on the cancellation of service, which reads,’In compliance with the State Government’s directive on coronavirus endemics, church members and visitors are herby advised to stay away from the church premises until further notice. Please pray at home’
Penpushing further reports that, at Cathedral Church of Peters in Ake, Abeokuta, 50 members were allowed to attend two service arrangements, having reduced hours of service to one hour each, as well as keeping to feet distance order.
Penpushing also reports that, a check at the Owu Baptist Church at Ita- Iyalode, showed the church under lock and key, while the same measure were applied at Ibara Baptist Church, as well as African Church Cathedral, Ita Iyalode and African Church, Idi-Ape, Abeokuta
Meanwhile, some churches also make used of the large size of their premises for 50 seats arrangement and speakers mounted outside to accommodate additional group of worshippers to participate from the service
