Coronavirus: Nigerian tailors begin online sales of facemasks

The Nigerian Tailors have started online sales of facemasks, with mass production of the products, following order by some State Governments in Nigeria, that, henceforth all residents should compulsorily wear facemasks, in view of the ravaging coronavirus.

Penpushing exclusively reports, that many of the tailors, who now keep late night to meet the demand have equally set up notification for sales online, for prospective customers, with assurance that such purchase would be deliver in their various homes.

The tailors who produced various designs, and customised products on demand placed advertisment with their contacts  online, and samples of their productions for interested members of the public to patronise them.

Penpushing further reports that, one of the online advertisement placement by a tailor reads,’we have facemask for sale, give to friends, neighbours and the vulnerable in your communitity, this is the time to show love’

‘Stay safe and keep others safe. It is very affordable,fitted and durable. It is N200 per facemask. We make branded mass production for compaines and organisations. We can deliver at your doorstep’, the online advertisement stated.

The initiator of the online sales, Olajumoke Peters-Fadairo who is the founder of  Priceless Jewels Foundation Vocational Training Institute, Abeokuta, said the motive behind the sales of the facemasks is to raise funds to make mass production to be donated to the vulnerable who cannot afford to buy.

‘The motive behind the sale of the facemasks is to raise funds to make mass production of the facemasks to be donated to rural communities and vulnerable who cannot afford to get these facemasks in our society’, she explained

Penpushing recalled that, number of States government had issued out a warning against neglect of facemask by residents, with latest coming from Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, who declared that, anybody who refused to wear facemask  risked arrest effective  from May 1.

“We are working against the spread of this COVID-19. As from May 1, it will be compulsory for everybody in the State to wear face mask. We deliberately delay enforcing it so that our people can have enough time to get their own’, he said

‘After May 1, anyone who fails to wear face mask will be viewed as deliberately planning to infect others and will be arrested and put in our isolation centres and made to carry out community service’ Abiodun declared
