‘CONSTITUTED AUTHORITY’GOVERNOR AJIMOBI, OYO ASSEMBLY SPEAKER, OLAGUNJU LOSES AT NATIONAL ASSEMBLY ELECTIONS
The Governor who is known for his self-acclaimed appellation, ’constituted authority’ , seeks to return to the Senate to occupy the seat he held between 1999 to 2003 before he became the Governor of Oyo State.
Penpushing further reports that, the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP),Candidate Dr Kola Balogun recorded 105,720 votes to defeat the sitting Governor Abiola Ajimobi, of the All Progressive Congress (APC) who polled 92,218 votes
In a similar development, the Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon Joshua Olagunju Ojo has lost his bid to represent Ogbomoso North South and Oriire Federal Constituency at the National Assembly.
Penpushing reports that Olagunju who contested under the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress APC lost to the candidate of the Action Democratic Party ADP Ajao Adejumo who polled 31,640 against Olagunju’s 17, 582.
The result as announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) collation centre at Ogunlola Hall, Oja Igbo Ogbomoso showed breakdown as: Ogbomoso North Local Government, ADC 2007, ADP 14772, APC 4811 and PDP 8074
Penpushing also reports that in Ogbomoso South Local Government Area the results shows; ADC-3145, ADP-10818, APC-3450 and PDP-6675, while in Oriire Local Government Area: ADC-1603,ADP-6050, APC-9321 and PDP-8005
