Community Head, Quadri Kudaisi suspended over alleged land grabbing in ogun state

The Council of Baale, Abeokuta North Local Government has suspended the Baale of Idiya, Quadri Kudaisi, indefinitely for contravening the provisions of the constitution of the Ogun State Council of Baale’s following allegations of land grabbing.

Penpushing reports that the suspension order of Kudaisi is contained in a letter dated 31st July 2024 with reference number OG/SCB/AKM/091/24 which was signed by the Chairman of the Council and Baale Onisasa, Baale Oyejide Jelili Adio and General Secretary and Baale Sangote, Baale Adetola Jelili.

The letter was copied to the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Ogun State Commission of Police, Ogun State Council of Baale’s and Egba Traditional Council of Baale’s, while other recipients include Ogun State Task Force on Anti-land grabbing, Sabo Police Division, Gbagura Councils of Baale’s, and Egba Oke Ogun Council of Baale’s.

“You were invited to the above-mentioned executive council meeting held on 29th July 2024 at Oke Ogun Baale’s hall Idiya Rounder Abeokuta at 10:30am prompt. You acknowledged receipt of the invitation by appending your signature on a copy of the invitation’, the letter reads

‘According to the extent sections of the council namely: Article 13 (I-VIII-IX) act of misconduct. In view of the above, you are hereby suspended indefinitely for contravening the provision of the constitution of the Ogun State council of Baale’s. Accordingly, you are banned from parading yourself as a member of the council and or participating in any other activities of the council’, the letter emphasised

Penpushing further reports that the Chairman of the Abeokuta North Council of Baale, Oyejide Jelili Adio speaking with journalists explained that the Council received numerous complaints and allegations against the suspended Baale.

‘He was accused of involving in landgrabbing, selling one land to multiple persons and forceful takeover of land. We had earlier cautioned him against trespassing on people’s land and his notorious act led him to be arrested and granted bail by the Court in the sum of N2 million. The activities of Qaudri Kudaisi on land grabbing is embarrassing the Council of Baale and putting us in bad light”, the letter emphasised

Penpushing also reports that the Assistant Secretary of the Council, Baale Adeyinka Rasheed in his submission added that act of the suspended Baale violated Article 13: of the Council’s constitution on code of conduct.

The suspended Baale it would be recalled was arrested by Ogun State Taskforce on anti landgrabbing subsequently arraigned in court and later granted bail in the sum of N2 million with two sureties, while another relative of the embattled alleged landgrabber, Lateef Kehinde Kudaisi was equally arrested over same crime, was granted bail by the Magistrate Court in the sum of N3 million with two sureties in like sum.
