College set ablaze over murder of 5–year old pupil

A Private school, Noble Kids Comprehensive College, where the kidnappers of Hanifa Abubakarb buried the remains of the five-year-old girl in Kano has been set ablaze on Monday by angry youths in the town.

Penpushing reports that, Hanifa was abducted on December 2 by her teacher, Abdulmalik Tanko, who is also the proprietor of the private school located at Kwanar Dakata in Nassarawa local government area, in Kano metropolis.

The Kano State Police Command Public Relations Officer, Abbdullahi Kiyawa, who confirmed the youth attack on the school, said, as at the time of filing this report no casualty in the incident, but admitted that parts of the school’s building were razed.

Penpushing further reports that, Kiyawa explained that the angry youth set fire to the school in the middle of the night, adding that as at time of this report, no arrest had been made, and also disclosed that suspect in the killing of the pupil had been arrested.

The Proprietor of the private school had last Thursday led police officers to the school premises where the remains of Hanifa were found buried in a shallow grave, and it was also discovered that body had been dismembered before being buried.

Penpushing also reports that, the police spokesman said,the remains were then exhumed for medical examination ahead of proper burial by her family, adding that the murder suspect will be arraign in court.
