CHILD PROTECTION NETWORK PETITION POLICE, GOVERNOR, OVER SEXUAL ABUSE ALLEGATION AGAINST COLLEGE DIRECTOR

The network emphasized that, in line with Child Rights Law of Ogun State, also prayed for through investigation into the matter, as well as temporary take over the running of the centre by the government pending the outcome and report of full investigation that will be carried out by a team or committee set up by the government.

The organisations also demanded that, the Director be called to order to stop the incessant threat to the lives of both the past and present beneficiaries of the centre, mechanism and measures be put in place to protect and safeguard the children who are presently under the care of the centre as well as prevent future re-occurrence.

‘While hoping that urgent steps will be taken to address these concerns, we use this opportunity to assure you of our readiness to work with government in carrying necessary actions on this matter as well as keep every child in Ogun State soil safe in line with the Ogun State standard often preached by our dear and active Governor’, the petition emphasised.

However, record available to Penpushing has it that, the school under the umbrella of a Non-Governmental Organization, known as Voice of Martyrs,was established in Abeokuta, in 2000 to accommodate displaced children across Nigeria, which focused more on displaced children of the northern part of the country.

 Meanwhile, as at the time of filing this report, the Director of the Centre, posited that, the allegations were untrue, claiming that it was an attempt to blackmail him by some alleged sponsors to take over the centre from him.
