Chamber of Commerce encourages entrepreneurs to explore untapped non-oil export potential

The Ota-Agbara Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (OTAGCCIMA) Ogun State has declared that Nigeria could earn more from non-oil exports if more entrepreneurs explore the $2.4 billion total untapped non -oil export potential.

Penpushing reports that President of the Chamber Mrs Cynthia Saka made this known at the Nigerian Export Promotion Council with the theme, ‘Exploring Opportunities Available in the Non-Oil Export Sectors of the Economy held at Lusada-Igbesa town of Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area of the stated

The Chamber boss explained that Nigeria is now interested in exportation of made product and also ready to support any business that is ready to go into exportation, stressing that that was one of the major reasons the chamber has brought the programme to doorstep of targeted beneficiaries.

‘Nigeria is now interested in exportation of our Nigerian made product and also ready to support any business that is ready to go into exportation. That’s why we are bringing this to our door step, to encourage both youth and adult that there is no need to japa but to use your brain and become a big exporter and let your account smile to you’, she emphasied.

Penpushing further reports that Saka pointed out that Nigeria’s total untapped non-oil export is worth $2.4 billion, the figure which is based on the estimates provided by the International Trade Centre (ITC) Export Potential Map.

The President urged Nigerians to imbibe an export culture that would complement the efforts of the Nigerian Government in promoting the export of Made-in-Nigeria products in the international market, assuring that the chamber was ready to provide the support for businesses trying to explore various opportunities in the export market.

Penpushing also reports that Hadiza Kashiat who was the guest lecturer and spoke on the topic’, ‘Export4Survival’, listed number of exportable products and equally gave insight to infrastructure to aid export.

The lecturer said this include am initiative to provide critical infrastructure, intervention to managing pre-shipment logistics and processes at the ports, domestic export warehouse activation by offering grants to operators under the export expansion facility, bonded warehouse where regulatory agencies document for export among others
