SEXUAL ALLEGATION IN COLLEGE; POLICE BEGINS INVESTIGATION, SUMMONS DIRECTOR

At the briefing two of the female ex-students who came with their parents openly narrated their ordeal, insisting that the Director sexually abused them, stressing that findings still showed that the inhuman treatment were still ongoing in the school..

“We also call on the African Union, United Nations, and International human rights bodies to look into the exploitation of the funding foreign bodies who may have accrued funds with out stories and did not deliver same to the right course”, the ex-students said

“The press conference is our only avenue to voice our concern, seek for justice and continuity of the Stephens Children Home / School in a manner that will provide sanity and true productivity. We have no strength or any ability to confront the director in anyway. Therefore, we seek for the active involvement of the civil rights society organisation and relevant government authorities to come to our aid, the complainants’ emphasied”.

In a similar development. Child Protection Network (CPN), an umbrella body of Non-Governmental Organizations(NGO’s) responsible for child welfare, Ogun State Chapter  petitioned Ogun State Police Command, to investigate  all allegations against the Director.

‘We humbly write to request for immediate action on alleged cases of sexual abuse, child labour and neglect of children housed at Stephen Children Centre, Aregbe, Abeokuta by the Director of the Centre, Rev Isaac Oluwole Newton-Wusu”, the petition reads

‘These allegations were made by a team of concerned past students of the Stephen Centre at a press briefing held at Iwe-Iroyin, Oke-Ilewo, Abeokuta on Tuesday 5th January 2018. At the briefing some of the victims in company of their parents were present to confirm the allegation, tell their stories and publicly shared their sad and pathetic experiences and abuse suffered while at the centre, the petition added.

 Meanwhile, as at the time of filing this report, the Director of the Centre, posited that, the allegations were untrue, claiming that it was an attempt to blackmail him by some alleged sponsors to take over the centre from him.
