Cabinet reshuffle: Penpushing member, Kunle Salako retained as Minister
A frontline member of Penpushing platform Dr Kunle Salako, who was appointed as Minister of State Environment and Ecological Management after the inauguration of President Bola Tinubu has again been retained to continue in office, as the President reshuffled his cabinet.
Penpushing reports that Salako was one of Ministers found competent and reliable, hence, he scaled the hurdle of the cabinet shake-up which occurred on Wednesday, and was assigned the portfolio of Minister of State, Health
The Minister is a medical practitioner and former Commissioner for Health in Ogun State, and served as the Co-ordinator, Ogun West Stakeholders Forum, as well as played major role in the emergence of Senator Olamilekan Solomon as federal lawmaker representing Ogun State at the national assembly
Penpushing further reports that Salako who hails from Ogun West Senatorial District of Ogun State in the similar vein, played active roles for the then Presidential candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC), who eventually won the February Presidential poll.
The retained Salako, as Minister of State Environment and Ecological Management recorded number of feats which include ministerial initiatives such as working with domestic and foreign partners to formulate and execute protectionist, conservationist and development environmental policies that make our ecosystem thrive for Nigerians of today and Nigerians of the future
Penpushing also reports these include environmental impact assessment, environmentally sound management, clean and green initiative, green bond, great green wall programme, erosion and watershed management project and clean energy initiative among others.
The Ministerial focal points include quality environment, securing a quality environment conducive for good health and wellbeing of fauna and flora, sustainability promoting sustainable use of natural resources, restoring and maintaining the ecosystem, ecological process and preserve biodiversity.
Penpushing reports that others are raising public awareness and promoting understanding of linkages of the environment, cooperating with relevant MDAs, the private sector, NGOs, and international organizations on environmental matters.
The ministerial activities under Salako include catchup with the daily events of top management, patriotic leadership and principled environmental advocacy, while in collaborations with domestic and foreign partners, the Ministry was guided by the patriotic principles of the administration towards a better environment for Nigerians and shared humanity with the world
