BUHARI’S VISIT TO LAGOS CAUSES HARDSHIP FOR AIRLINE PASSENGERS

In an interview with some of the passengers they lament over the development, describing the action as an act of infringement on their rights.

“This is not funny again, how can they shut the whole place down when the president’s flight is 11:30 a.m., this is wrong,” a  passenger queried, adding that “How can Lagos State Government decide to lose money because a president is coming and how can a president allow his people suffer like this,”

Another passenger who doesn’t want her name in print said, “This is not palatable at all.  I left my house 4 a.m., but trust Nigerians, they will always find a way around it,” she said.

However, a journalist with Premium Times who was also travelling had to trek for about 2.6 kilometres to catch the flight. The reporter had a bitter experience when officials of the Nigerian Army seized her phone demanding she delete the pictures taken of the situation at various points.

In similar vein, an official of one of the airlines, told passengers that all the airline’s flights may  be delayed till 12 noon, after the president’s arrival.
