Breadmakers to partner stakeholders in addressing effect of economic downturn on bread production
The Premium BreadMakers Association of Nigeria (PBAN) has concluded plans to tackle the challenges confronting the baking industry, partnering with key stakeholders, in view of economic downturn afflicting manufacturing sector in the country
Penpushing reports that President of the association, Engr Emmanuel Onuorah made this known in a statement, adding that the body will on Thursday November, 9, 2023 converge a critical stakeholder in the baking industry to map-out solutions to the nagging problems of bread bakings.
The statement issued by the brand consultant, Eddy Ademosu emphasized that, the Group Managing Director, Flour Mills Nigeria Plc, Mr Boye Olusanya will chair the gathering of eminent players and regulators who will dissect the underlining causes of the industry’s hiccups, and also make appropriate recommendations.
Penpushing further reports that Onuorah stated that the Director in charge of Food Safety and Applied Nutrition (FSAN), National Agency for Foods and Drugs Administration Control (NAFDAC), Ms Eva Edwards has also been scheduled to offer the regulator’s perspectives to the theme, “Overcoming Baking Industry Challenges Under Harsh Economic Realities”.
The statement added that experts in the sector have noted lately that the BreadMaking Industry requires necessary government’s protection given its crucial importance in the value chain of foods availability to the mass populace.
Penpushing also reports that the statement explained that other activities earmarked for the Day-Out include: Bakers’ Exhibition, Networking, Interactive Session and Entertainment among others, explaining that Premium BreadMakers Association of Nigeria (PBAN) day-out is the first in the series of initiatives to ensure that baking industry keeps playing its prominent role in the food security of the nation.
