Breaking: Ogun State former head of service, Babatunde Osokoya is dead

A former Ogun State Head of Service and Secretary to the State Government Prince Babatunde Osokoya has been reported dead at age of 81, after being admitted into a private hospital in Abeokuta.

Penpushing reports that Osokoya was still seen at the 50th anniversary of Ogun State creation held recently, alongside some of his retired colleagues and lively throwing banters to each others at the colourful occasion.

The death of the former Head of Service was said to have occurred on Sunday, an incident which shocked many of those who still saw him at the anniversary with no sign of any ailment suggesting any sudden demise.

Penpushing further reports that, he was former Chairman Civil Service Commission after his retirement and known to be a  thorough bread civil servant and one of the strong pioneers of the State Civi Service from the former western region .

The deceased  contributed immensely to human capacity development in and out of service, a community leader who hails from Omu- ijebu, known as sports loving and human capital development consultant

Penpushing also reports that it would be recalled that during his 80th birthday anniversary last year Governor Dapo Abiodun showered encomium on him as one of the icons of the civil service, emphasizing that Osokoya”s career in the civil service speaks volume about his professionalism

Meanwhile, as at the time of filing this report, the family of the deceased who was a member of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies have scheduled a meeting for Monday to issue further details on the demise
