BRAVERY: OGUN SECURITY OFFICER SHOT BY ARMED ROBBERS DIES ONE MONTH AFTER
The Public Relations Officer of the Corps, Moruf Yusuf when contacted by Penpushing confirmed the demise of the officer on Sunday, adding, ‘sir we lost that our officer that was shot the other time. He died about 3.30pm’
It is recalled that during a robbery operation at Olorunsogo Community located in Oke-Lantoro area of Abeokuta, the State’s capital, the operation team of So-Safe Corps raced to the scene of the robbery to rescue the community from the marauders who were fully armed, while in the process, the officer, Kehinde Aigbe, was shot in the stomach by the bandits.
The armed robbers immediately fled the scene, while Aigbe was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Idi-Aba, Abeokuta, and after spending some days there, he was referred to Lagos University Teaching Hospital, LUTH, because of the critical condition.
Penpushing further reports that, the 48 year old officer was admitted in the hospital for weeks, and subsequently discharged on Saturday, but ironically few hours when he returned home, he gave up the ghost.
The Commander of the Corps, Soji Ganzallo, when contacted over the sad development, could not hold back tears, lamenting the loss of the brave and gallant officer of the Command, whose life was cut short by the bandits during official assignment.
