I DID NOT TAKE EVEN A SPOON AWAY FROM GOVERNMENT HOUSE, SAYS FORMER GOVERNOR AJIMOBI

‘I didn’t meet any furniture when I came into the government house in 2011; I left there now without taking even ordinary a spoon. I will take the same decisions I took during my tenure as the Governor of this State if I have chance to be Governor of the State again, except that I tried to be perfect in an imperfect world. Whatever we have done in the past, we put God first’

‘It is normal to offends human being, but we must avoid to offend God, so we should always sacrifices for the betterment of the people, though everybody can not like all the decision someone take”,Ajimobi stated

“We were there yesterday, and there is always a yesterday for everybody, we are all human being, tomorrow, they will talk about our past, so, no position, either as human being or a living soul is permanent, that is why we need to do our best when we are there.”

The former Governor while reacting to the alleged car theft  by his aides while in government, said what the present administration failed to realized is that, the government policy then was that any government officers using vehicles should take it at end of administration.

Penpushing further reports that, Ajimobi argued that this has also been practicing in other States of the Federation which Oyo State is not exceptional, adding, “when you are in government, there are polices to be taken’

‘The decision we made then was that government officers using vehicles should take it, and all these vehicles are old vehicles. Former Governor Akala also took vehicles when he was going, I didn’t meet any furniture when I came into the government house in 2011, I left there now without taking even ordinary a spoon.”

The former Governor pointed out that 14 vehicles were released  to the Oyo All Progressives Congress(APC) Gubernatoral Candidate, Chief Adebayo Adelabu when he was about to leave the Central Bank of Nigeria, adding that 8 vehicles Were  also giving to him (Ajimobi) while leaving his former working place.

“There are also civil servants whereby the moment politicians leave offices, they will steal everything, so civil servants should also be checked”, adding that Governor Makinde should count himself lucky because he met a good security architecture on ground,  and should therefore leverage on it.

“There are many good things we have done, so he should leverage on them, and whichever he feels is not good, he can make amendment because nobody is perfect. Makinde’s success is our progress in this State, we will support him if the needs arises, what are we going to benefit from his downfall?.”

Penpushing also reports that, Ajimobi appealed to all the aggrieved All Progressives Congress (APC) members in the State to come for reconciliation, adding that most of the aggrieved party members don’t have genuine reason to be angry except they were not giving positions in his government.

He added “I have reached out to some of them which I believe has genuine reason to be angry, everybody should come back for reconciliation to forge ahead for 2023 election”
