Board of Trustees Women Business Network visit bereaved family of Iyalode Alaba Lawson
The Board of Trustees of the Association of Nigeria Women Business Network (ANWBN) on Thursday visited the bereaved family of Iyalode Alaba Lawson, who died peacefully on Saturday, October 28, 2023 in her private residence.
Penpushing reports that the board led by Chief (Mrs) Anita Nana Okuribido were received by the children of late Lawson, alongside other family members at the home located in Quarry Road in Abeokuta, Ogun State Capital.
The Chairperson of the board Engr Joana Olutunmbi Maduka, in a condolence letter read by Okuribido, who represented her, pointed out that the deceased was a great source of inspiration to many women and youth of Nigeria

Penpushing further reports that the letter added that Lawson has been known to have impacted communities with democratic dividend and gained recognitions while recording many firsts in different capacities that included being the first female President of Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture (NACCIMA)
The condolence letter in the same vein identified other feats of Lawson as Chairperson of Federation of West Africa Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FEWACCI) and United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goal Ambassador.
‘Iyalode Alaba Lawson was a great source of inspiration to many women and youth of Nigeria while her life as a Nigerian business magnate, entrepreneur and founder of Alaba Lawson Group of Schools continues to be a great source of motivation to the womenfolk’, the letter added.
‘She has been known to have impacted communities with democratic dividend and gained recognitions while recording many firsts in different capacities that included being the first female President of NACCIMA, FEWACCI, UN Sustainable Development Goal Ambassador and Chairman of the Board of the Governing Council, Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Ogun State’.
‘Her departure has therefore left a great vacuum in our hearts and the organisation as a whole. We are grateful for her support, visionary leadership and mentorship. We celebrate her life as a pacesetter, with accolades of achievements in different business sectors as well as her commitment to the economic growth and development in Nigeria, Africa and the global world’.
‘Iyalode fare thee well as we shall never forget you and your impactful deeds to humanity. We pray for your gallant soul to rest in perfect peace and may God grant the Lawson family and all left behind to mourn your sad departure the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss’, the letter stated.
