BISHOP WANTS EQUAL DISTRIBUTION OF PROJECTS IN OGUN

“As His Excellency is trying to find his feet and settle down in Office, let me inform you that the people of the State have high hopes in you, that you will help to alleviate their sufferings. The people are tired of promises not fulfilled and not interested in white elephant projects that will not translate into direct benefits to them”, he said.

 Penpushing further reports that, Oluwarounbi while assuring of the church support through prayers and candid advise from time to time, also pleaded with the State Government to give selfless service to the people, adding that it behoves on government to treat every area equally, irrespective of their political leanings.

The Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, in his keynote address appreciated the body of Christ and the entire members of Yewa Anglican Diocese, for their contributions during the electioneering campaign, despite the various experiences, commending religious groups for maintaining harmony with people of other faiths, which he noted has contributed to the peaceful ambience of the State.

 Penpushing also reports that, the Press Officer to the Deputy Governor, Seun Boye, in the statement said her boss  Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, who represented the Governor  said for peaceful religious co- existence to continue in the State, all hands must be on deck to build the future of the State together.

 “I want to assure you of our administration’s resolve to support all religious programmes that will promote peace, harmony and improve on the lots of our people”, Boye quoted the Governor, adding that he, however, congratulated the Bishop of the Diocese and the entire congregation, for the successful take-off of the synod themed “behold, we have found Him”, praying that peace would continue to reign in Ogun State and the Country at large.

Penpushing reports that, in another development, the present administration in its resolve to resuscitate the decadence in the education sector, has extended its fact- finding mission to Yewa Local Government Area of the State.

 The Deputy Governor, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele accompanied by a former member of National Assembly Hon. Biodun Akinlade, during an on the spot assessment to Baptist Day School, Oke-Odan, said her visit was to identify the various challenges faced by the school, in order to tackle them and reposition the education sector in the State.

Penpushing further reports that, she  assured that the present administration would build modern blocks of classrooms in at least one ward across the Local Government Areas in the State,and while conducting the Deputy Governor and her team round the school, the Head Teacher, Mrs. Cecilia Babarinde said the school has a population of 429 pupils with 9 Teachers and 2 blocks of classrooms, with 4 classrooms, noting that the school is faced with insufficient classrooms.

 The Chairman of the Parents Teachers Association, Mr. Afolabi  Adebiyi  while speaking in same vein, added that inconducive learning environment, encroachment and disturbance from passers-by have contributed negatively to the smooth running of the school.

Meanwhile, highpoint of the visit was the presentation of full Secondary School Scholarship to Master Isreal Joshua, as the most outstanding pupil in the School by Hon. Abiodun Akinlade.
