Benue state tanker explosion: 12 confirmed dead
A petrol tanker explosion which occurred on Sunday at Oshigbudu village in Agatu Local Government Area of Benue State has claimed twelve persons reported to have died in inferno
Penpushing reports that the Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in the State, Yakubu Mohammed, said the tanker lost control at the Oshigbudu-Obagaji junction and spilled its contents.
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) boss confirmed that eight males, three females and a little boy have died as a result of the traffic crash, adding that a fire incident erupted after the crash.
Penpushing further reports that, Mohammed said the fire equally gutted houses and shops, but as at the time of filing this report, he could not ascertain the number of those affected in the torched buildings
The Sector Commander added that, as at the time of this report operatives and other sister agencies are working together to evacuate the casualties and control the situation.
