
Bayelsa state deputy governor slumps, moved into hospital’s intensive care unit
The Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, on Thursday collapsed at the Government House in Yenagoa and was rushed to the hospital, while his state of health as at time of this report was said to be source of concern across the state.
Penpushing reports that following the sudden collapse and slump reportedly caused immediate alarm among his aides, staff, and government officials, but the exact cause of remains unknown.
The Deputy Governor was initially taken to the emergency unit of the Federal Medical Centre, Yenagoa, before being transferred to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for closer monitoring, while the hospital premises quickly became crowded as top government officials, politicians, and religious leaders visited to show solidarity and pray for his recovery.

Penpushing further reports that the Deputy Governor’s media aide, Doubara Atasi, when contacted confirmed the development but declined to provide additional details, while as at the time of this report no official statement from the Bayelsa State government.
Meanwhile, residents and members of the public as at the time of the incident and filing this report were anxiously awaiting an update on Ewhrudjakpo’s medical condition, while unconfirmed source said he had died.
