Bandits release photos of abducted Kaduna-bound train passengers

The bandits who attacked a Kaduna-bound train killing nine people and abducting over 100 passengers have released photographs of some of the victims being held hostage in the forest, a development which is to affirm evidence of the gunmen.

Penpushing reports that the photographs showed faces of the abductees which include women, girls, men and children, all sitting on the tarpaulin spread on the floor in the forest and looking helpless, as the bandits watch over them.

The abductees have been in custody of the gunmen for a month despite repeated calls by their relatives and other Nigerians for the government to secure their release from captivity, while the government as at the time of filing this report was yet to ascertain the exact number of those abducted.

Penpushing further reports that, the inscription on the photo revealed that it was taken with an Infinix mobile phone, while a family member of one of the abductees in reaction said releasing the photos was part of the planned propaganda by the bandits to get at the government.

“What they need from the government, we don’t know but they’re surely doing this (releasing) the pictures to make the federal government uncomfortable. When family members of the abductees see the pictures, they’ll definitely pressurize the government by talking to the media and may be protesting. The government will have no option than to start discussing with them (bandits)”, the family member was quoted saying
