Bandits kill commissioner’s son, many others in Zamfara state
Armed bandits have killed son of the Zamfara State Commissioner for Security Affairs alongside many other residents of Tsafe town, the council headquarters of Tsafe Local Government Area of the State.
Penpushing reports that the bandits invaded the community on Sunday and embarked sporadic shooting, immediately after night prayer, a scene known as ‘Hayin Tumbi’ area said to be close to the commissioner’s residence
The source said following the attack many people narrowly escaped from the community, while it is also confirmed that the attack is the latest in Zamfara by gunmen who have terrorised the state and neighbouring states since 2018
Penpushing further reports that, as at the time of filing this report, Zamfara State Police Command Public Relations Officer, Muhammad Shehu, was yet to react to the ugly development when contacted on Sunday night.
The source from the police headquarters, however, confirmed the commissioner’s son as one of those who lost their lives, adding that, the command would later release an official statement on the incident .
