Ogun state residents cry out as power outage paralyses communities

The residents of four communities which include Saje, Eleja,  Arinlese and Itoko in Abeokuta North local government area of Ogun State  have cried out over perpetual darkness as a result of power outage being experienced for months.

Penpushing reports that, number of residents in an interview lamented that the unbearable situation, is also causing them nightmare, coupled with activities of marauders within the axis, as a fallout of perpetual darkness

The residents also pointed out that the ugly development has been affecting business activities in the four communities and environs, adding that only few of the traders who can afford to buy fuel into their generating sets were still struggling to survive on their trade

Penpushing reports that, a resident identified as Afolasade while speaking with journalists recalled that the power outage  started  since May , and has affected many things, lamenting that even those who can afford to buy petrol for their need does that with hardship.

The lady who lamented that the cost and purchase of petrol has turned out herculean task, said residents are fed up with the whole situation and passionately appealed to the appropriate authorities to come to their aid, before situation get out of hands

Penpushing also reports that, in similar vein, a frozen food seller in the area sharing her experience lamented that  she has incurred debts following the poor power supply in the community, stressing that the development may force her to close shop .

“This power outage issue has really affected my business because the items I sell need regular power supply for me to remain in business. We are appealing to the appropriate bodies involved to come to our rescue as soon as possible before it generates into something more unpleasant”, she lamented.

Penpushing further reports that, a community leader in Elega community identified as Mr. Taiwo while speaking with journalists equally lamented the poor power supply in the area, and called on the distribution company to rectify the fault as soon as possible.
