Atiku meets Obasanjo privately in Abeokuta
Former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, on Saturday engaged former President Olusegun Obasanjo privately at his (Obasanjo) Penthouse residence located within the premises of Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, Abeokuta.
Penpushing reports that Atiku arrived the home of his host at about 10am, but it was not clear if the closed door meeting has to do with the forthcoming 2023 general election
The former Vice President while speaking with journalists after the meeting which lasted for about an hour said he came to see his boss, but was, however, silence on agenda of the meeting, just as he called on Nigerian youths to summon courage to compete with elders for elective offices in the forthcoming poll.
Penpushing further reports that, Atiku, however, posited that, the youths should as well not deny the old ones their constitutional rights to contest, stressing that, the electoral field is opened for interested to participate.
The former Presidential candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), expressed optimism of getting his party ticket to contest 2023 election, boasting that he is more capable to secure the ticket and win election
“I came to meet my boss. We will let you know when I declare, we will give a formal announcement. Let the youths compete with the elders. It is competition. It is democracy,” Atiku emphasised.
Penpushing also reports that, Atiku thereafter proceeded to the palace of Alake of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo, in Ake, Abeokuta where he reminisced on his relationship with the people of Ogun State and Egbaland in particular
