Assault: You have case to answer, Court tells Oluwo
An Osogbo Chief Magistrates’ Court in Osun State has ruled that the controversial traditional ruler of Iwo, Oba Abdulrasheed Akanbi, has case to answer over alleged assault instituted against him, and therefore ordered him to appear before it.
Penpushing reports that Magistrate Olusegun Ayilara in his ruling on Friday in an application brought against Oluwo by Agbowu of Ogbaagba, Oba Dhikrulahi Akinropo, over alleged assault, ordered the police to put Oluwo on notice before date would be fixed for hearing of the matter.
The prosecution counsel, Soji Oyetayo, had earlier approached the court for an order on motion exparte in order to file an application against the Oluwo, having being accused of attacking another monarch, Agbowu of Ogbaagba, Oba Dhikrulahi Akinropo, during a peace meeting on February. 14.
Penpushing recalled that, the meeting was called by the Assistant Inspector General of Police in the zone, Bashir Makama in his office in Osogbo, Osun State Capital to settle a land tussle in Iwo land between the monarchs, where Oluwo allegedly attacked his colleague.
