Assault case: Seun Kuti released on bail
The embattled Afrobeat musician, Seun Kuti, who ran into trouble water for allegedly slapping a police officer who was on duty on Lagos street, was on Tuesday evening been released by the police after fulfilling his bail conditions,
Penpushing reports that Seun, son of the late music legend, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti regained freedom after one week in detention at the State Criminal Investigation Department, (SCID) Panti, Yaba area of Lagos State.
The lawyer Adeyinka Olumide-Fusika, confirmed his release, while it will also be recalled that, the musician had turned himself in after the Inspector-General of Police, Usman Baba, ordered his arrest, following a video of the musician assaulting a police officer surfaced online.
Penpushing further reports that, it is recalled that, earlier, the hearing in the case at the Yaba magistrate court was adjourned to Wednesday because the magistrate was absent.
