Ambulance runs over individual during Lagos state marathon
An ambulance has struck an individual during the 11th edition of the Access Bank Lagos City Marathon on Saturday, while runners were seen moving along a city road before the ambulance approached from behind and appeared to hit someone along the route.
Penpushing reports that as contained in a video, shared on X by a user identified as #Mrolaoluwa, said he hoped that guy that ambulance just hit at the Lagos City Marathon now, is safe.
The authorities as at the time of filing this report had not issued an official statement confirming details of the incident., while the identity of the victim and condition were yet to be ascertained.
Penpushing further reports that the marathon began earlier in the day, with athletes and recreational runners taking part across major routes in Lagos, while in same vein it remained unclear whether the person struck was a race participant or a bystander.
