ALL PROGRESSIVES CONGRESS SETS UP CARETAKER COMMITTEE FOR OGUN

The development is a follow up to the dissolution of Ogun and Imo State executives of the party, while a similar committee has been set up for Imo, but as at the time of filing this report, the statement was yet to give further information.

Penpushing recalled that the leadership of the party had earlier dissolved the executives of Ogun and Imo States because it said it cannot trust the two Governors (Ibikunle Amosun and Rochas Okorocha to work in favour of the party ahead of the 2019 election.

It is also a known fact that, the Governors of both states are currently in conflict with the national body over contested outcomes of their governorship primaries. The duo after the primaries publicly declared their grievances over their inability to prop up their respective candidates for the Governorship seats.

Penpushing recalled that, Amosun and Okorocha openly declared their decision to support their candidates and work against their party, All Progressives Congress (APC) in their respective states in the new parties their preferred candidates   defected to.

However, the Governors said they remained in the All Progressives Congress (APC) with a pledge to support and work for victory of President Muhammadu Buhari’s  at the 2019 poll for his second term bid.
