All Progressives Congress endorses Governor Abiodun for second term

The All Progressives Congress (APC), Obafemi-Owode Local Government on Thursday endorsed Governor Dapo Abiodun for second term in office, with a pledge to throw their weight behind him during primaries of the party and at general election in 2023

Penpushing reports that, thousands of the party members and supporters, including all traditional rulers in the council areas stormed the town hall in Owode, headquarters of the local government to ask the governor to go for another term in office.

The endorsement of Abiodun by the local government also attracted the presence of market women and men, as well as farmers and body of students in the zone represented by one of their leaders, who highlighted some achievements of the Governor in the area of education, prompting their support for him.

Penpushing further reports that, leadership of the All Progressives Congress Congress (APC) in the local government, unveiling the genuine desire and call on Abiodun to contest the governorship race to become Governor for another four years, wrote him a letter to this effect.

The endorsement letter was presented to Senatorial Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the State, Chief Fohun Abiola who came to represent the Governor, and speaking on behalf of the Governor that his re-election will record another round of developmental growth in the state.

Penpushing also reports that, the Governor expressed administration to the local chapter of the party, for the gestures and promised that, if re-elected he would not disappoint them, and the entire residents of the state.

The ceremony recorded series of political activities as various aspirants for various political offices stormed the venue with their supporters, with number of placards to propagate their interest ahead of the party primaries, while larger percentage of them were adorn with uniform Ankara fabrics.

Penpushing reports that, some notable party chieftains at the ceremony include; Rt Hon Tunji Egbetokun, former Speaker Ogun State House Assembly, who doubles as Special Adviser to Governor on political matters.

They also include: Chief Kola Sorinola,(Former Commissioner Special Duty) Hon Mutair Ajayi(Chairman Planning Committee) , Hon Dele Erisan,(former member Ogun State House of Assembly) Chief Emmanuel Idowu and  Engr Akeem Adesina(former Chairman, Obafemi-Owode Local Government) among others
