Alfa, so-safe-corps officials,3 others arraigned for assault, providing false information to police

A 44-year-old Alfa, Yisa Rasheed has been arraigned before a magistrate court alongside five others on four count charges which include providing false information to the police, assault, and malicious damage among others.

Penpushing reports that other accused facing the alleged crimes at Chief Magistrate Court, Ota include Omotayo Adeniyi (53), Lateef Ibrahim (22), Adeniyi Rasak (20),Akinrele Adetayo(32) and Folayemi Abolade(32)

The Investigating Police Officer Emeweruwa Marvelous in the original case file told the court on December 20,2023 when the accused were arraigned that the offences were contrary and punishable under the criminal code of Ogun State Law.

Penpushing further reports that two of the arraigned accused Adetayo and Folayemi were said to be officials of the So-Safe-Corps, a security arm of the Ogun State Government, said to have been involved in the alleged crimes

‘That you Yisa Rasheed ‘M’,Omotayo Adeniyi ‘F’, Lateef Ibrahim ‘M’, Adeniyi Rasak ‘M’, Akinrele Adetayo ‘M’ and Folayemi Abolade ‘M’  on the 7th of September, 2023 at about 1000hr at Sanusi Street, Iroko Sango Ota in the Ota magistrate district did conspire among yourselves to commit felony to wit:assault and malicious damage and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under section 516 of the criminal code law, laws of Ogun State of Nigeria, 2006’, count one reads

‘That you Yisa Rasheed ‘M’, Omotayo Adeniyi ‘F’, Lateef Ibrahim ‘M’, Adeniyi Rasak ‘M’, Akinrele Adetayo ‘M’ and Folayemi Abolade ‘M’ on the same date time and place in the aforementioned magisterial district did assault one Rasheed Kareem ‘M’ and cause him bodily harm and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under section 335 of the criminal code law of Ogun State of Nigeria 2006’, count two reads

‘That you Yisa Rasheed ‘M’,Omotayo Adeniyi ‘F’, Lateef Ibrahim ‘M’, Adeniyi Rasak ‘M’, Akinrele Adetayo ‘M’ and Folayemi Abolade ‘M’  on the same date time and place in the aforementioned magisterial  district did willfully and unlawfully damage Rasheed Kareem ‘M’ cloth valued sum of Ten Thousand Naira only(N10,000) and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under section 451 of the criminal code law of Ogun Ste of Nigeria,2006’, reads count three

That you Yisa Rasheed ‘M’,Omotayo Adeniyi ‘F’, Lateef Ibrahim ‘M’, Adeniyi Rasak ‘M’, Akinrele Adetayo ‘M’ and Folayemi Abolade ‘M’  on the same date time and place in the aforementioned magisterial  district did give false information to the police against Rasheed Kareem ‘M’ and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under section 125 of the criminal code law of Ogun State of Nigeria,2006’ count four reads

Penpushing also reports that the Chief Magistrate A.S Soneye in his ruling, however, granted bail for the accused in the sum of N200,00 with two sureties in like sum, and subsequently adjourned the trial to January 10, 2024
