Akufo-Addo re-elected as Ghana’s President

The Ghanaian President Nana Akufo-Addo has been re-elected as the county’s President following his victory having polled6,730,413 votes (51.59 per cent).to defeat his closest challenger and former President John Mahama

Penpushing reports that, the chairperson of the Electoral Commission of Ghana,Jean Mensah said the final results were without that of Techiman South because it was being contested.

The electoral commission boss, however, added that the total votes in the constituency is 128,018 and will not change the outcome of the result adding that by the power vested in her as the returning officer, it was her duty to announce Nana Akufo-Addo as the President-elect of the country

Penpushing further reports that, the former President, Mahama, who contested under the platform of the National Democratic Congress, scored 6,240,889 votes (47.36 per cent),while Akufo-Addo, sitting President who contested on the platform of the New Patriotic Party, won in eight of the 16 regions and Mahama won in the other eight.
