Agency trains 180 artisans on Digital Economy in Oyo state

The National Information Technological Development Agency, (NITDA) an agency of Federal Government under the supervision of Federal Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy has trained another set of 180 artisans in Oyo state on Digital Economy

Penpushing reports that the 10- days training tagged ‘Capacity Development Program to Promote Digital Economy’ was facilitated by a lawmaker representing Oyo North Senatorial District, Senator Abdulfatai Buhari.

The event which was held at Ladoke  Akintola   University of Technology (LAUTECH) Ogbomoso between 17- 28th of August 2020 was coordinated by Microban Standard Communications Ltd, ensuring  adequate training materials were provided and strict compliance to coronavirus  guidelines

Penpushing further reports that, participants who were drawn from 33 local government in the state  were trained on how to repair telephones and taking through  the necessary rudiment of  the business and majority of them commended the Federal government  for availing them the opportunities of adding up to their skills.

The Director General of NITDA, Mr Kashifu Inuwa Abdulahi who was represented by Olayinka Femi urged the participants to make judicious use of the opportunities as he said the agency will embark on follow up by monitoring  the participants.

Penpushing also reports that, Senator Buhari who is a chieftain of All Progressives Congress (APC) in his remarks said that he facilitated the training to enhance  knowledge acquisition and skills of the  artisans in Oyo North Senatorial district.

‘This is the third time training like this will  be organized since 2019 and I am happy and satisfied with the feedback I am getting from the first and second training sessions about 50 percent of the participants are using the skills acquired as a means of livelihood

The chairman Senate Committee on Land  Transport  said  the  rationale behind the training is to reduce the rate of unemployment and assist the young artisans to stand on their own, and urged the youths to take advantage of every opportunity from federal government to enhance their skills and acquire more knowledge

Penpushing  reports that the Chairman, Phone Repairer Association of Nigeria, Ogbomoso Zone, Mr Akintunde Bashir, while speaking on behalf of the participants commended the Federal government  and Senator Buhari for facilitating such developmental and skill acquisition training

” Most of what we were  taught here are new technology in phone repairs we are grateful for this opportunity, we will no longer take phones with complex situations to Lagos , we can now fix  them without any errors and we will make more money; Akintunde said
