Achudume ventures into gospel music
David Lawrence Achudume is the son of the renowned Nigerian Cleric, Apostle Lawrence Achudume, General Overseer Victory Life Bible Church (VLBC) International with headquarters located on Abeokuta-Ajebo Road, Abeokuta, Ogun State Capital.
Penpushing reports that young Achudume is following the footsteps of his father in the gospel world, but in a different and unique version, as he decided to propagate God, through music, aimed to enlighten the hearts of men through the word of God.
The son of the cleric who is a mechanical engineer in this exclusive interview with Penpushing Media relayed his journey into music world, explaining that he got a call from God in 2022 to venture into the gospel music
Penpushing further reports that on venturing into the project he name his music band ‘Illumination’ with sixteen members, adding that he is equally looking forward to have his own music label, stressing that gospel music is unique
‘My full name is David Lawrence Achudume. The name of my team is illumination because we are called to enlighten the hearts of men through the word of God. I never thought of doing music until God told me in the year 2022 that it was my year of songs and I got loads of songs that year, got my team and began to make music all by the leading of the Spirit’, he explained
Penpushing also reports that when asked if he would abandon his profession as a mechanical engineer for music, Achudume explained that, that could only be determined by God who he said asked him to go into gospel songs
‘I am a mechanical engineer Hmmm I won’t say I’m abandoning anything I’m just following God’s leadership; whatever He says I follow. We are 16 in the team. Well, I’m happy that Nigerian musicians are taking over, it’s been a long time coming. So much God given gifts in the land. Yes, I plan to establish my own music label focused on the gospel, unique in its own way’, he added
Penpushing reports that the tracks of the illumination gospel group led by Achudume include popular songs such as Osuba, Oba Awon Oba and We Wait, currently making wave globally on digital and focuses on enlightening the hearts of men and women, to illuminate their understanding of the true word of God through music.
The team leader emphasized that the group consists of young musicians and singers who love to worship and preach the true gospel through their talents and gifts, with assurance that the music band will continue to win souls for God
