Process for emergence of new traditional ruler of Agura to commence on Wednesday

The process for emergence of the new Agura of Gbagura in Abeokuta, Ogun State is to start on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, following the demise of the 9th traditional ruler of the town, Oba Babajide Sabur Bakre on 14th of June 2023.

Penpushing reports that exclusive investigation revealed that the kingmakers of the ancient town have being assigned to commence the process as it is exactly ninety days the monarch joined his ancestors at the age of 61.

The late royal father it is recalled was installed the 9th Agura of Gbagura in May 2019 by the former Governor of Ogun State, Senator Ibikunle  Amosun  and spent about three years on the throne before his exit to the great beyond.

Penpushing further reports that in an interview with Chairman, Regency Council of Gbagura, Chief Bode Mustapha, corroborated the investigation by the Penpushing Media, adding that the kingmakers are responsible to search for a new monarch.

The Osi of Egba added that this became necessary after ninety days of the passage of the late traditional ruler, stressing that the kingmakers are expected to start the process, as reported by the Penpushing Media.

Penpushing also reports that the Egba High Chief, however, was silence on the candidates who are showing interest in the race to become the next traditional ruler of the town, emphasizing that the kingmakers have been saddled with the responsibility to carry out the exercise
