Association of Nigerian Broadcasters launches N250million fund raising for secretariat

The Association of Nigerian Broadcasters (ANBROAD), Ogun State Chapter on Thursday kicked started process for the construction of its ultra-modern secretariat with launch of N250million fund raising.

Penpushing reports that the launch was part of activities for the grand finale of the year 2025 week of the association held at Edwin’s Hall along Leme axis of Moshood Abiola Way, Abeokuta, Ogun State Capital.

The event which attracted number of personalities from within and outside Ogun State features other programmes such as investiture of patrons, patroness, advisers and awards to some individuals.

Penpushing further reports that Chairman Planning Committee, Kola Adeleye in his welcome speech explained that the event was a culmination of enormous collective efforts that have led to the realization of the day.

‘The efforts began almost three months ago as a proposal from the Governor of ANBRAOD in Ogun State. His Excellency, Gbenga Goke-Fadiran, members of the executive, other national officers of the association and all members’, Adeleke stated

Penpushing also reports that he pointed out that committee service is one of the toughest roles of all members, describing them as judicious stewards of the association, stressing that as chairman they did not flinch in the face of difficult decision they had to make.

The planning committee boss added that on behalf of the entire committee, he appreciated the body for granting them the latitude to serve and for having confidence in them, stressing that the dedication and ability of the association to fight for right perspective is commendable

Penpushing reports that the Governor of the association Gbenga Goke-Fadiran in his remarks recalled the journey which led to the formation of Association of Nigerian Broadcasters (ANBROAD).

‘Just like yesterday, the journey into what is now known as ANBRAOD began and that mustard seed is what we are seeing today as big tree. At the inception of this administration, we noted as a professional association, it is imperative for us to set goals’

‘And regularly evaluate our activities with a view to knowing our achievements and how much we have maintained focus or otherwise. The present executives of the association upon its inauguration in November, 2024 set out a 3-point agenda. Firstly, to enhance the intellectual capability of our members through training and re-training’, he emphasized

Penpushing further reports Goke-Fadiran disclosed that the association is presently collaborating with the Ogun State government to benefit from all social and economic relief programmes of government meant to cater for the citizenry.

The Governor boasted that the association already has the assurances of the state government in that regard, adding that the association intends to maximize members skills and professional endowment to ensure a robust future for them.

‘This we hope to achieve through quality representation in the programmes and policies of government and that of the non-governmental organisations without compromising our responsibility of improving the quality of lives of the people through educative, enlightenment and entertainment programmes. All these have been our focus’, he added

Penpushing also reports that National President of the association Abdulrazaq Abdul Ganeey, in his speech highlighted the association’s broader mission, explaining that the body focused on professionalism and providing high-quality information for audiences.

The President explained that the association has introduced a digital identity initiative for members, known Unique Professional Number (UPN) which is linked to a matriculation number, stressing that the innovation was part of the drive to professionalise broadcasting and ensure accountability.

‎“Immediately I took the oath and assumed the mantle of leadership as national president, we introduced a Unique Professional Number (UPN) for members. As broadcasters, we hold ourselves accountable for entertaining, informing, and educating our audiences, and we strive to do this to the best of our ability. We also appreciate the unwavering support and love from our audiences’, he said

Penpushing reports that notable dignitaries include Chief (Mrs) Afolashade Kokumo (Iyalode of Oke-Ona), Chief (Mrs) Ibiyemi Ajadi (Yeyeluwa), Goke Babalola (General Manager, Fresh F.M Abeokuta) and Omolola Odutola (Ogun State Police Command Public Relations Officer)

The others are Prince Dimeji Kayode-Adedeji (Founder Penpushing Media), Abiodun Alabi (Deputy General Manager, Ogun State Television), Oluwasesan Fagbayi (Ogun State Commissioner for Culture and Tourism), Queen Amirat Matemilola (Olori of Olowu of Owu Kingdom) and Chief Ayobami Adelani among others
