8 killed, 10 cars burnt as protest against operations of Special Anti-Robbery Squad turns bloody in Ibadan

The protest against activities of the disbanded Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) on Tuesday turned bloody in Ibadan, Oyo State Capital, as eight persons including police officers were reportedly killed.

Penpushing reports that the incident started in the early hours of  the day when a Police officer allegedly shot one of the protesters in the leg which led to the commotion between the police officers and the angry youth

The Ojoo Police station, in Ibadan was set ablaze, while 10 cars were equally put on fire  when the mob attacked the Police station, just as an eye witness, Deji Akinwande confirmed the incident.

“The incident started when a Police officer shot one of the protesters in leg, and this makes the youths to lynch the police officers and thereafter the station was burned together with some of their cars, so the police in retaliation shot some of the mob”.
