64-year-old congregant abducted after church crusade regains freedom

The 64 year old man Ade Omigbiyegbe who was reported missing at crusade organized by the   Deeper Life Bible Church, held at the Moshood Abiola International Stadium, located in Kuto area of Abeokuta, Ogun   State Capital has been found on Saturday night.

Penpushing reports that, he was later found to have been abducted by gunmen while on his way home, and taken into the bush,  hours later he was briefly allowed by the abductors to speak to his family, calling on them to pray for him.

The son of the victim, Kunle who put a telephone call to Penpushing media on Saturday night confirmed his release, adding that his father was blindfolded by the captors and released on Abeokuta-Lagos,an outskirt of Abeokuta,and he is now at home to the family.

Penpushing further reports that, the family, however, did not say if ransom was paid, but said the abductors collected the cash with him and other personal effects as at the time of abduction.

The victim,it is recalled left his home at Rounder area in Ayetoro road, Abeokuta to join some of his Methodist Church members to attend the crusade as members of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN)

Penpushing also reports that,the crusade ended on Friday night, when all congregants left for their various homes, but to the amazement of Omigbiyegbe family, twenty four hours after, he was nowhere to be found, a development which  caused sleepless night for the family and associates

The family, had earlier, provided telephone numbers:  08033981456 and 07031170474 for anybody who have a link on his whereabout to call, assuring that such information will treated with caution and informant identity protected

Penpushing reports that a Pastor from the Methodist Church, who was also a participant at the crusade confirmed that, the 65-year old man was seen at the crusade ground on the said day, lamenting that how he got missing was disturbing and worrisome

The family had called on well meaning individuals to help in the search for the missing man, adding that a report was made at the Divisional Police Headquarters, Ibara, Abeokuta, which is a stone throw to the venue of the crusade
