Similarly, tactical actions include, publication of Directory of NIJ Alumni (1st edition) to be launched during the anniversary celebration, data being collated should be the fulcrum of the Directory, mobilise more Alumni to register with the central group, Intensify efforts on social media Including other social media platforms for the Alumni, particularly Facebook, Twitter and Instagram with all the platforms integrated
The committee also considered part of the programme to include; advocacy and sensitisation of Alumni and other stakeholders, visit to Chief Olusegun Osoba, a founding alumnus, reaching out strategically to Alumni and other interested corporate and private individuals, firm up the budget, sponsorship and partnership, visits to corporate organisations (involve Alumni in positions of influence)
Other proposals are; publicity, media interaction session by Alumni leadership, explore discussion programmes on TV and radio, feature articles and interviews in the print media, online media reports, production of Anniversary Lecture brochure and Directory of NIJ Alumni.
The committee also proposed three days anniversary reunion to be tagged Homecoming (Interaction between the Alumni and the students at the school premises), with another Interactive session with the theme: Media and National Rebirth,as well as Lead Paper and Panel discussion.
In the same vein, the planning committee proposed that speaker includes Prof. Ayo Olukotun former Editorial Board chairman Old Daily Times, Department of Political Science, University of Lagos, while panelist will come from representative of media owners, representative of practitioners (NUJ/NGE), and representative of the Alumni
There is also going to be launch of the NIJ Alumni Website and social media platforms, launch of Directory of Alumni, anniversary Dinner/Awards (nominees to be determined based on their contribution to development of the media industry
On finance, the committee resolved that a detailed budget will be worked out upon the review/approval of this plan, adding that funding will be through identified corporate sponsors and contributions by Alumni
