36 year old man bags 25 years jail for defiling 11 year old girl

The High Court sitting in Abeokuta, Ogun State Capital on Wednesday sentenced a 36 year-old man, Ugochukwu Obiakor to 25 years imprisonment for raping a 11 year- old girl in Mowe community of the state
Penpushing reports that, prosecution counsel, James Mafe, had during the trial told the court that the convict committed the offence on September 4, 2017 at Omu- Aleku Village in Mowe area of Ogun state.
The Prosecutor who is the Director of Legal Drafting, said the convict forcefully had sexual intercourse with the innocent victim adding the girl was in her mother’s shop when the convict came to buy bread and soft drink from the mother, but later returned to the shop when the mother left the shop
Penpushing further reports that, Mafe told the court that, the convict deceived the girl that, her mother was owing him, and asked him to come back for collection, explaining that, immediately, on opening the shop burglary he dragged the victim to an uncompleted building beside the shop and raped her.
The prosecution counsel said the convict was subsequently arrested, adding that the offence committed contravened Section 32 of the Child Right laws of Ogun 2006, stating that medical results conducted revealed that the victim hymen and vagina laceration was broken.
Penpushing also reports that,the judge, Justice Mosunmola Dipeolu while delivering judgement held that all evidence presented before the court by the prosecution was tenable and found the convict guilty as charged, and therefore .
