Rebrand your conduct for betterment of your fans, country, police boss tells naira marley

The Deputy Inspector-General of Police, Department of Operations, Abdulmajid Ali has advised the controversial musician, Azeez  Fasola, popularly known as Naira Marley to rebrand his conduct  and be a good role model for  the youths and his fans across the globe.

Penpushing reports that, the police boss gave the advice on Friday when the youthful singer paid a visit in his office at the police headquarters in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) after his(Fasola’s) arraignment for violating coronavirus rules.

The statement made available by Personal Assistant to the Deputy Inspector General of Police, Muyiwa Adejobi  has it that, the Deputy Inspector General of Police  told Naira Marley to turn around his fame for the better, in encouraging his fans and followers to boost national development.

Penpushing further reports that, Ali emphasized need for the hip hop artist, in impacting good and educative ideas on the youths and the entire populace who will in turn be helpful in all ramifications through promotion of moral values.

The police boss also encouraged Fasola who was on Thursday arraigned before the Lagos State Special Offences (Mobile) Court, Oshodi for a one count charge of breach of cessation of movement, to respect constituted authorities in the country considering his nature of profession and fame across the country and the world in general.

Penpushing also reports, the musician in his response, assured the Nigeria Police of being a good example to all and sundry, and assist in evangelising community policing concept in order to have better protection of lives and property of Nigerians.

The musician, it is recalled  faced  charge of breach of cessation of movement and interstates travel order made by the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria under Regulation 4(i) of the Lagos State Infectious Disease Emergency Prevention) Regulation No 2 of 2020 and committed an offence punishable under Section 58 Public Health Law, Ch. P16, Laws of Lagos State 2015

Penpushing further reports that, on June 13, Marley embarked on a non-essential travel from Lagos to Abuja and back to Lagos the same date, through the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja for a musical concert in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory(FCT).

The concert was organised by Play Network Africa, Traffic Bar and El’Carnival, and was sponsored by Glenfiddich, while it is also recalled that Naira Marley, a known controversial musician was also indicted when he showed up at a party which actress, Funke Akindele, organised in honour of her husband, Abdulrasheed Bello, also known as JJC Skillz, in April.

Penpushing reports that at the trial of Naira Marley and his manager, the duo  accused persons pleaded guilty to the charge and were subsequently awarded a fine of one N100, 000 each by the magistrate.
