27-year-old suspected yahoo boy kills girlfriend over internet fraud proceeds

The Ogun State Police Command has arrested a 27-year-old suspected yahoo boy, for allegedly killing his girlfriend over controversy on proceeds from internet fraud
Penpushing reports that, Command Public Relations Officer Abimbola Oyeyemi made this known in a statement adding that,the deceased was identified as  Idowu Buhari a Higher National Diploma (HND) Mass Communication student of Gateway polytechnic Saapade.
The police spokesman said the suspect was arrested following a distress call received at Ode -Remo Divisional headquarters, that the suspect, who reside at number 3, Mojubade compound, Eredu Ishara, locked himself and his girlfriend inside his room and started beating the girl, subsequently hit her head against the wall.
Penpushing further reports that, Oyeyemi in a press statement said  all efforts made to persuade the suspect to open the door proved abortive, adding that upon the distress call, the Divisional Police Officer,  Ode-Remo division, CSP Fasogbon Olayemi quickly led his men to the scene where they met the victim in the pool of her blood after forcing the door opened.
The statement added that the victim was quickly rushed to State Hospital Ishara,but was pronounced dead by Doctor on duty, disclosing that as at the time of filing this report, the suspect an indigene of Enugu State was promptly arrested and taken to custody.
“On interrogation, the suspect, Obeta John informed the police that he is an internet fraudster, and that certain amount of money from one of his clients was paid into the account of his deceased girlfriend which she refused to relinquish to him. He stated further that it was the argument over the said money that led to scuffle between them which eventually led to the death of the girl”, Oyeyemi said.
Penpushing also reports that the statement added that Commissioner of Police, Lanre Bankole, has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspect to Homicide Section of the State Criminal Investigation Departments for further investigation and diligent prosecution.
