2027 Governorship race: Assess my candidacy on my professional track records, says Iyabo Obasanjo
The Governorship aspirant under the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC), Ogun State ahead of the 2027 poll, Senator Iyabo Obasanjo has stated that her candidacy should be assessed on her professional track record, strategic vision and administrative competence, rather than superficial considerations.
Penpushing reports that she said this while featuring as guest of Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN), Paramount F.M, Abeokuta on Monday, assuring that if elected she would ensure effective governance in Ogun State.
The first female governorship aspirant in the state emphasized that she is committed to deliver impactful leadership, adding that the governorship race is a serious pursuit of political reform, not a runway show.
Penpushing further reports that the Egba born medical practitioner turned politician highlighted key policy priorities, which include education, health, citizens welfare, agriculture among others.
The daughter of former President Olusegun Obasanjo advocated a stronger focus on entrepreneurship and vocational skills development, emphasizing that they are essential tools for youth empowerment and economic growth.
Penpushing also reports that she called on government and stakeholders on need to increase investment in education, as well as strengthening key sectors such as healthcare, agriculture and enterprise development.
