The Secretary General of United Nations(UN) António Guterres, said the outgoing 2022 is sweeping out the ashes of the year, to pave way for brighter day in the coming year,stressing that every new year is a moment of rebirth.
Penpushing reports that this was the New Year message of the world body as made available to journalists worldwide, pointing out that in 2022 millions of people around the world literally swept out ashes.

From Ukraine to Afghanistan to the Democratic Republic of the Congo and beyond, people left the ruins of their homes and lives in search of something better’, he stated.
Penpushing further reports that Guterres in the message added that globally, one hundred million people were on the move, fleeing wars, wildfires, droughts, poverty and hunger, expressing optimism that in 2023, there will be peace.
