2019: RACE TO OGUN GOVERNORSHIP SEAT ATTRACTS EIGHTEEN ASPIRANTS
The Aspirants as at the time of this reports include; Prince Segun Adesegun of All Progressives Congress, and a former Deputy Governor, Alhaji Gbenga Kaka of the All Progressives Congress, also a former Deputy Governor from Ogun East Senatorial Distrrict and Biyi Otegbeye of the All Progressives Congress, who is from Ogun West Senatorial District
Others are, Dapo Abiodun of All Progressives Congress from Ogun East Senatorial District, Dimeji Bankole of Action Democratic Party (ADP), a former Speaker House of Representatives from Ogun Central Senatorial District and Ladi Adebutu of Peoples Democratic Party from Ogun East Senatorial District.
The list also include; Suraj Adekunbi of the All Progressives Congress and the incumbent Speaker, Ogun State House of Assembly who is from Ogun West Senatorial District, Muyiwa Oladipo, a Commissioner in the State and Bimbo Ashiru, a Commissioner in the State from Ogun East Senatorial District.
Others are; Rotimi Paseda of Unity Party of Nigeria from Ogun East Senatorial District, Gboyega Isiaka of African Democratic Congress from Ogun West Senatorial District, Tolu Odebiyi of All Progressives Congress and incumbent Chief of Staff, who is also from Ogun West Senatorial District and Sina Kawonise of the Social Democratic Party and former Information Commission from Ogun East Senatorial District
Similarly, other aspirants eyeing the number one seat in the State are; Segun Odegbami of Labour Party, and former Captain of Green Eagles, who is from the Ogun Central Senatorial District,, Mayokun Ilo of All Progressives Congress, a Petroleum Engineer from Ogun West Senatorial District, Oluseyi Olufade-Olowookere of Alliance for Democracy, an ICT expert from Ogun West Senatorial District and Abiodun Akinlade of All Progressives Congress from Ogun West Senatorial District
Penpushing further investigation also showed that more aspirants may still show up, considering the value of the exalted position, which many of the politicians now see as avenue to be permanently relevant in the society
