WOMEN JOURNALISTS CONDEMN ATTACK ON COLLEAGUE BY AGITATED PARENT AT CRESCENT UNIVERSITY

The women penpushers also demanded that appropriate sanctions should be awarded to those involved in the unwholesome incident of October 19, recalling that Jumoke, a reporter with the State owned Radio Station, Ogun State Broadcasting Corporation,( OGBC), was manhandled by aggrieved parents that were allegedly locked out of the convocation venue by the Institution.

Penpushing further reports that, the women journalists disclosed that, their colleague had sustained injury and lost her personal effects during the attack, and decried the increasing rate of abuse and molestation of journalists in the course of discharging their duties.

The body of women journalists called on government at all levels as well as private institutions to be proactive in curbing the menace, while urging the University Authorities to put measures in place to forestall a recurrence.

Penpushing also reports that, the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists,(NAWOJ),  also requested the University to tender apologies to the reporter and the Association with subsequent replacement of all items lost or damaged during the melee.
