WE ARE READY FOR SATURDAY’S POLL, OUR MATERIALS ARE NOW INTACT, SAYS OYO ELECTORAL COMMISSIONER

“We have been guaranteed by the security personnel that they will give us maximum support. We also expect the political parties to give us maximum support by sending a representative from their party to come and witness, as well as monitor those materials till they get to their various destinations.”

“We did not have any shortfall in materials, we have more than enough as our Abuja office has send us more materials, right now, we have received 7, 336 functional and enhance card readers as to our previous requested number of 6, 390’.

Penpushing further reports Agboke added that the commission have recruited and trained 351 registration area technicians one per one ward so that they can attend to any issues or faults that smart card reader might develop on the field.

“The commission has already recruited and trained over twenty eight thousand (28,000) personnel for the Presidential and national assembly elections, these personnel were sourced from the Youth Corp Members, Penultimate Level Students of Federal Tertiary Institutions, and Ex-Corp members who will be manning the whole 4,783 Units and 1,607 Voting Point making the total of 6,390 Voting Stands we have in the state.”

The electoral boss, while speaking on the logistics and time of election, said that arrangements have been made with the transport owners for the supply of hundreds of vehicles and motorcycles to be used in conveying election materials and personnel to and fro the polling units.

“Let me also say that the polls opens at 8am  and closes at 2pm while those on voting queues as at 2pm will be allow to cast their votes, the results of election at the polling units and collated votes at all collation centers will be pasted at respective venues”.

Penpushing also reports that, dignitaries at the event include; representatives of different political parties in the State, Oyo State Police Commissioner, Shina Olukoku, Major Ibisoye Moore Briggs representing Major General Azinta of Division 2 command, Oyo State Director of National Youth Corps Abekemo Kikelomo, Oyo State Director of Department of State Security(DSS) and State Director of National Orientation Agency, among others.
